The Saint Peter’s Prep track and field team showcased, yet again, why its one of the best teams not only in the county, but in the Non-Public. The team finished with multiple top three finishes, including a dominating win in the distance medley relay, at the Catholic Track Conference Relay Championships held at the New York Armory in New York, N.Y on Sunday.

The team was led by a first place finish in the DMR. The relay team, which consisted of Rodolfo Sanchez (3:14.80), Joey Morrone (51.17), Jack Sipperly (2:08.37) and Edwin Klanke (4:35.28), ran a seasons best and NJ # 2 time of 10:49.64.

The 4x400m relay of Morrone (51.48), Luqman Gbadamassi (52.81), Lawrence Jenkins (55.45) and Sergio Restrepo (55.74) finished second with a time of 3:35.49 while the 4x800m relay of Sipperly (2:05.96), Jack Glynn (2:10.82), Tyler Parrado (2:08.49) and Sanchez (2:06.55) also finished second with a NJ #9 time of 8:31.84. The shuttle hurdle relay squad of Gbadamassi (7.66), David Mezzina (7.95), Fitzroy Ledgister (8.78) and Mitchell Jackson (8.91) finished third with a time of 33.20 while the 4x200m relay of Ledgister, Samuel Slade, Gbadamassi (22.74) and Morrone (22.70) finished second with a NJ #9 time of 1:32.35.

Individually, Jaylan Sanchez continued his success in the long jump, finishing second with a mark of 21-00 while Owen Fletcher finished fourth with a huge personal best throw of 46-7.75 in the shot put.

Next up for the Marauders will be the Hispanic Games at the New York Armory in New York, N.Y on Saturday, starting at 9 A.M.
