After a heartbreaking loss in the quarterfinal rounds last year, St. Peter’s Prep, No. 11 in the Top 20, was out for revenge. They got just that by defeating No. 14 Notre Dame, 94-76, in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA Non-Public A Championships at St. Peter’s University Aquatic Center.

The 200-medley relay team of Gabriel Orbe, CeeJay Larino, Max Geller and Timmy Jimenez started the meet off strong with a first place finish. Orbe also broke two school records by winning the 100-butterfly in a time of 50.51 and the 100-backstroke with a time of 52.53. His brother, Andres Orbe, held the previous records from last year.

Ben Norris won the 500-freestyle in a personal best 5:09 while Nick Wondolowski qualified for the Meet of Champions in the 50-freestyle.

The Marauders will go on to face St. Augustine on Monday in the semi-final round at the Neptune Aquatic Center at 11:30 A.M.
