The Saint Peter’s Prep cross country team placed four runners in the top ten to roll to the Jersey City Championship title on Tuesday at Lincoln Park in Jersey City.
The win marks Prep’s fourth consecutive Jersey City title and its 11th overall title.
Tyler Parrado led the charge for the Marauders, winning the 5k race with a season-best time of 16:44.4. Patrick McCabe (16:58,6), Sebastian Pena (17:30.7), Sebastian Colie (17:46.1) and Samuel Leonte (18:04.1) rounded out the top five, finishing in second, fifth, sixth and 11th, respectively.
Max Hartelius led the charge for the freshman, winning the 2 mile race in 11:30.9. Antoine Hurtado-Barzac (11:35.6), Theodore McCarthy (11:39.1), Richard Harrington (12:10.6) and Brian Christman (12:16.4) rounded out the top five, finishing third, fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.
Lastly, Kevin Nally won the junior varsity race with a new personal record of 18:02.9 to help Prep get the final victory of the day. Nicholas Buendia (19:18.4), Joaquin Matti (19:19.0), Joshua Tauriello (19:24.7) and Logan Elliott (19:52.6) all finished in the top 10 for the Marauders.
Next up for Prep will be the South Hudson Championships next Thursday at Bayonne Park in Bayonne at 4 P.M.
